-From Mom’s Garden to My Canvas

/Identity Shaped by Shifting Perspectives

“Garden” explores a reconstructed landscape formed through fragmented perspectives and moments in time.

The work originates from my mother’s garden. I photograph the same location repeatedly from different angles and at varying times, then assemble these images into a collage to construct a space that does not exist in reality. From this image, I develop a painting that maintains a photographic surface while containing subtle misalignments.

Presented in an elongated format, the work invites the viewer to move along its surface. As the viewpoint shifts, the landscape appears continuous, yet small disruptions subtly interrupt its coherence.

The garden becomes a space that feels familiar, but cannot fully exist—situated between reality and construction.
